Card payments in your online shop

Your CG Shops shop takes cards through Stripe. The money goes straight to your own account there. The myPOS connection is built in too, but for now it works in test mode only.

Why cards? Many shoppers want to pay right away. And a virtual POS terminal from a bank often means a contract and waiting. With Stripe, starting is easier.

How it works

  1. You open a Stripe account. The account is yours, and so is the contract.
  2. You enter the details in the shop. You enter three keys in "Payment Setting". You will see below what the keys are.
  3. You try it. Stripe has a test mode with test cards. The money there is not real, so you can try it calmly.
  4. You switch on real payments. At checkout the shopper sees card payment. The bottom of every page shows the Visa and Mastercard logos. They show that cards are welcome here.
  5. You get the money. It goes to your Stripe account. The order is marked paid by itself. You do not need to mark it.

Stripe

  • You need your own Stripe account.
  • Stripe gives you three keys. These are long codes that link your account to the shop. You copy them from Stripe into the shop.
  • Stripe calls the third key "webhook". Do not skip it. With it, the shop learns that the card has paid.
  • You can take the money right away. Or only hold it and take it later, for example when you ship the goods.
  • You refund, in full or in part, straight from the shop. Or you tell the AI assistant.
  • There is a test mode.

myPOS: coming soon

The myPOS connection is built into the shop. But myPOS has not approved (certified) it yet. So for now it works in test mode only. We will switch on real myPOS payments when myPOS approves it. Until then, use Stripe for cards.

Example: a ceramics studio

An invented example: "Glina i Ogan", a studio for handmade mugs and bowls in Veliko Tarnovo. Most buyers are abroad and pay by card. The owner opens a Stripe account. She puts in the test keys and places a test order with a test card.

Everything works. She puts in the live keys. The first order from Germany comes in paid. One mug breaks on the way. She refunds part of the amount straight from the order.

Other ways to pay

  • Cash on delivery: the shopper pays the courier.
  • Bank transfer: the shopper sees your IBAN and a payment deadline. Unpaid orders are cancelled by themselves.
  • PayPal.

Good to know

  • CG Shops takes no fee on your sales. You pay the Stripe fees under your contract with Stripe.
  • As of November 2026, a virtual POS from a bank cannot be connected to the shop. That is why we work with Stripe.
  • For bank transfer, the IBAN must be Bulgarian. Shoppers have 7 days to pay, unless you change it.
  • With PayPal, refunds are made in PayPal, not in the shop.

For the technical person

  • In "Payment Setting", the Stripe keys are "Publishable Key", "Secret Key" and "Webhook Secret Key".
  • A webhook is an address where Stripe tells the shop about each payment. Without it, the order is not marked paid.
  • Stripe's test keys and live keys are different. Swap them when you switch on real payments.
